Rivertree Academy Achieves
Dual-Accreditation

Fort Worth, Texas —For the past two years, the staff, leadership, and Board of Directors at Rivertree Academy have worked diligently with both the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and Cognia (formerly the Southern Association for Colleges & Schools) to become a recognized school through their respective organizations.

As of April 2022, Rivertree Academy achieved dual accreditation, receiving high marks from both evaluating organizations. As a dual-accredited school, Rivertree is now part of two organizations that will provide continuous, meaningful feedback, informed evaluators, and ongoing support for efforts in all areas of the school.

The accreditation process invites third party experts from the field of education to come evaluate a school’s policies, learning conditions, and outlook for long-term sustainability. Based on rigorous research-based standards and evidence-based criteria, the process probes the entire organization, and the experts from the field determine how well the school meets the criteria for accreditation. A stamp of approval from the accreditation agencies confirms Rivertree’s established, academic excellence to Rivertree families, stakeholders, and community partners.

Dr. Justina Jenkins, Head of School, shared the following: “I am so proud to announce that Rivertree Academy has earned dual accreditation status! Receiving this dual accreditation demonstrates to the community that Rivertree is a school with a solid foundation; an institution of exceptional academic performance and intentional care for each student, prepared to meet the needs of each young scholar that enters our doors daily.”

About Rivertree Academy

Rivertree Academy’s mission is to educate under-resourced students to live life well: following Jesus, thriving academically, and transforming their communities. While serving students living primarily in the Lake Como neighborhood, the student body at Rivertree Academy comes from a multitude of backgrounds and family situations – each student brings a unique story to our school. In an effort to best serve each student that walks through our doors, Rivertree approaches education with a focus on the whole child – spiritual, academic, and social well-being. We’ve built our school on a foundation of academic (small classroom sizes with individualized attention; curriculum that goes beyond the basic core subjects) and social (trauma-informed care; mentoring; Behavior Management Program) distinctives, while also incorporating core values of Faith; Excellence; and Magnanimity. Our innovative approach to education gives children living in generational poverty a bigger vision for their lives and shows them that their current circumstances do not dictate their future. The goal for each student graduating from Rivertree Academy is to prepare them to continue their education beyond our school. Teachers and staff intentionally pour their time, talent, and love into each student, equipping our young scholars for the future.
