Position Title: After-School Teacher

Reports To: After-School Coordinator

After-School Teacher

The aftercare part-time teachers at Rivertree Academy will provide biblically-based, inspiring instruction that establishes a joyful learning environment, maximizes individual student achievement, and engages children to help them develop cognitively, socially, emotionally, physically, morally, and spiritually.

BASIC FUNCTION
# Duty / Responsibility (List of primary duties performed)

  • Be excited to share a passion for learning and assist children and their families

  • Communicate with the Aftercare Coordinator about homework requirements from a selected group of students.

  • Deliver the highest-quality educational services in reading, mathematics, writing, and other content areas in a small group environment

  • Support students with high accuracy homework completion

  • Implement academic enrichment activities in a small group environment

  • Tracking student progress on homework completion and content mastery

  • Support students with habits demonstrating Christ-like character and behaviors

  • Adhere to all school requirements regarding the use of building facilities

  • Participate in training and professional development for job responsibilities (including content knowledge, curriculum needs, teacher homework expectations, etc.)

  • Participate in parent conferences as needed

  • Manage small group supplies

  • Assure that after school snacks are properly administered and associated documentation is accurately provided

  • Perform the duties and responsibilities of the program staff as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum work experience and education required or equivalent combination):

  • The ideal candidate will have knowledge of reading and mathematics at an elementary school level.
